The Victorian Era
Over in Britain, the reign of Queen Victoria was the influence of the Victorian Era from late 1830-early 1900s. Through these many decades of reign of Queen Victoria, many ideas and events came about. Some of these important general highlights include hagiarchy of social structures, social acts, influence of literature, the role/importance of class status, the role of a woman, and vaccinations. Below goes into detail of a few events that shaped the Victorian Era.
Queen Victoria Reign Highlights
June 1937 - Becomes queen at the age of 18 after the death of her uncle William IV
December 1861 - Husband, Prince Albert, dies from typhoid fever (life threating illness) that was transmitted by consuming contaminated food or water
May 1976 - Victoria is declared empress of India from the conservative prime minister at the time Benjamin Disraeli
January 1901 - Queen Victoria does at the age of 81 from old age at her home

The Edwardian Era
Over in Britain, following the Victorian Era, this time period spans over the reign of King Edward VII from 1901-1910. This era followed directly after the death of Queen Victoria, where the reign was given to her son and successor. More commonly known for its Conservative Party (Unionists), Labour Party, and Liberal Party with majority focus on the change to liberal reforms and the constructs with the greater public awareness towards social change.
Social change in particular looked at change in public heath, women uprising (health, suffrage, and poverty), and fashion. Most of which was beneficial to women and to further distinguish towards technological advancements through the Industrial Revolution.
